Petersfield Town 5-0 Loxwood

Petersfield gave the fans an early Christmas present, putting five past Loxwood increasing their impressive run of form.

Harrison Cable scored twice with goals from Kian Towse, Tom Dinsmore and a first for Bob Tudway completed a ruthless second half display.

Assad Ssemwogerere caused the visitors problems firing an early warning shot saved by Louis Sulivan. After 25 minutes it was the in form Towse that started the move for the opening goal. Winning the ball high up the pitch he drove to the box, cutting it back for Cable, who at the second attempt found the back of the net.

Going a goal down seemed to spark Loxwood into life as they began to create good chances. Kieran Connell cleared a dangerous opening then Pacey Jacob-Bean squandered a golden chance as the ball fell kindly inside the box. His powerful effort went straight into the hands of Connell when it looked easier to score.

From then on the Rams were ruthless, a second half performance which flattened the visitors. Towse scored his goal three minutes in as Ssemwogerere got the better of the full back, his low cross was palmed away but Towse cleaned up at the back post.

Petersfield looked threatening now and Cable forced a good save from Sulivan but the he could do nothing in the 54th minute as Cable grabbed his second. With luck on his side, an attempted clearance came off the back of Towse, bouncing into Cable’s path who only had the keeper to beat.

The managers made substitutes as we looked in control with Tudway coming on and a debut for Ashton Leigh. Tudway made the desired impact, picking up a throw in on the right he played a low ball in the box as Tom Dinsmoore strode onto the pass and stuck it home.

Tudway turned assist into a goal after 77 minutes scoring a well taken goal. A poor backpass from the visitors was intercepted on the halfway line by Tudway, his determined drive took him to the edge of the box before lifting the shot over the stranded keeper for five.

Towse was unlucky not to get the hosts sixth as great football led to a good Leigh set up as Towse rolled the ball into the far corner only to be denied by the linesman. A five star display takes us into the local derby away to Midhurst on Boxing Day where both managers want to continues the fine form.
