Petersfield Town 0 - 1 Bournemouth
"There was a force field around the goal" were the thoughts of manager, Connor Hoare as the Rams failed to break down Bournemouth Poppies leading to a narrow defeat on home soil.
The big chances fell to Liam Kimber in the first half, he had an early chip caught but his best was when he got put through by Dec Seidan. Through on goal he tried a low effort but the ball rolled agonisingly past the post.
Against the run of play a slice of fortune but a clinical counter put the visitors ahead in 26 minutes. A pump forward got a flick off a Ram head for Tyrone Carkeet to run with, a bending cross for James Beasley with the first time finish to put them ahead.
The second half began with chances either end. Chad Cornwall bore down the left beating his man and pulling to back for Seiden. His effort was blocked by defender Levi Middlewick on the line. Lewis Sainval then saw a free header go wide for Poppies.
The frantic final ten minutes bought attack after attack as a deflected Kieran Alcock effort was scrambled wide. The second was a great quick interchange with composure from Seidan, pulling back for Tommy Tierney whose shot was well saved with the keepers legs.
The final big chance was a goal line scramble, Cam Langham took out two defenders with some skill, Seidan took over and his bending effort was palmed back into the box. With Cornwall coming in, a last ditch block denied a goal with an Alcock effort scrambled clear.
